The students in our extended language profile have the following possibilities:

•  In grade 5 they all start with English, having extra lessons in grade 5 and 6 to prepare for the bilingual teaching.

•  In grade 6 they can choose either Spanish or Latin as their second foreign language.

•  In grade 8 they have the choice between French or Russian as their third foreign language.

 

Apart from learning three foreign languages this profile offers the following bilingual courses or elements:

•  In grade 7 the students start with bilingual geography. This subject can be continued as a bilingual basic course in grade 11 and completed with an examination when passing the Abitur.

•  Bilingual elements are taught in the subjects computer science (in grade 7), history (grades 8-10) and physics (grades 9 and 10).

•  In grades 11 and 12 our students can enroll for a bilingual course on Goethe and Lord Byron.

 

In grade 11 the students of the extended language profile have three advanced courses with the following possibilities:

•  English

•  German OR Mathematics

•  3rd foreign language (French or Russian) OR Physics

 

In order to deepen the extended English knowledge the students go abroad for an educational trip to an English speaking country.

 

Furthermore, all students of the extended language profile have the possibility to gain the following certificates that will facilitate the access to universities:

•  Cambridge Certificate FCE/CAE (English language certificate)

•  DELF/DALF or DELE (French or Spanish language certificate)

•  Certilingua (an excellence label proving profound language knowledge)
